OpenClaw is great at running your own agent: it reads, writes, browses and automates. What it cannot do on its own is make a real phone call and talk to a person. Assindo can. Assindo is an AI phone assistant: it calls businesses for you, works through phone menus, waits on hold, talks to whoever answers, and writes up what they said. Add Assindo to OpenClaw as an MCP server and your agent can hand a call to Assindo, then check how it went.
What You Need
- OpenClaw with its Gateway running.
- An Assindo account. Free to create in the Assindo app (iOS, Android, or web at web.assindo.com). Calls use your Assindo plan's minutes.
- The Assindo MCP server:
https://mcp.assindo.com/mcp(Streamable HTTP, OAuth sign-in).
Option 1: Connect with the OpenClaw CLI
Step 1: Add the server
openclaw mcp add assindo \
--url https://mcp.assindo.com/mcp \
--transport streamable-http
Step 2: Turn on OAuth for it
Assindo signs you in with your Assindo account, so set auth to oauth on the server entry in your OpenClaw config:
{
mcp: {
servers: {
assindo: {
url: "https://mcp.assindo.com/mcp",
transport: "streamable-http",
enabled: true,
auth: "oauth",
},
},
},
}
Assindo supports dynamic client registration, so there is no client ID or secret to paste: OpenClaw registers itself on first sign-in.
Step 3: Sign in
openclaw mcp login assindo
Open the link it prints, and the Connect OpenClaw to Assindo page appears. Sign in with Google, Apple or email, the same login as the Assindo app. OpenClaw catches the redirect on a local port and saves the credentials. If your browser cannot reach that local listener, use the --code command the CLI prints instead.
Let Assindo answer your calls and make them for you.
Get AssindoStep 4: Check it works
openclaw mcp doctor assindo --probe
The probe opens a live connection and should list three tools: create_task, get_task_result and send_chat_message. If the Gateway was already running, reload or restart it so it picks up the new server.
Option 2: Connect from the Control UI
Open Settings > MCP > Add server, name it assindo, choose Streamable HTTP, enter https://mcp.assindo.com/mcp and select Add server. Once it is enabled, select Sign in, approve access with your Assindo account, and return to Settings. Browser sign-in works from the Gateway's own HTTPS address or its loopback address; from a separately hosted UI, use openclaw mcp login assindo instead.
One Assindo Account per Person (Optional)
By default the connection is shared: everyone who talks to your OpenClaw agent uses the Assindo account that signed in. If several people use the same agent and each should use their own Assindo account, set oauth: { identity: "per-requester" } on the server and give the Gateway a public HTTPS origin (gateway.publicOrigin). Each person then gets a sign-in link the first time their request needs Assindo.
What Your Agent Can Ask Assindo to Do
- Create a task. A phone call (book, ask, cancel, follow up), a post on X or LinkedIn, something at a set time, or research. The task description is all Assindo sees, so include the business and its number, exactly what to ask, and anything to avoid ("info only, do not book").
- Check a task's result. The status, what Assindo found out, and the call summary. A call usually takes 2 to 5 minutes.
- Send Assindo a message. Ask what happened on a call, what is on your task list, or hand over a request in plain words.
Try It
- "Use Assindo to call a hardware store near me and ask if they have a 20 amp breaker in stock. Info only."
- A few minutes later: "Check the Assindo task: what did the store say?"
- "Tomorrow at 9am, have Assindo call my internet provider and ask why my bill went up."
FAQs
Do I need a client ID or API key?
No. Assindo uses OAuth with dynamic client registration: OpenClaw registers itself and you sign in with your Assindo account. There is no API key to manage.
Does OpenClaw dial the number itself?
No. Your agent hands the job to Assindo as a task, and Assindo's own assistant places the call with the same rules as the app: business hours only, no redialing someone who just declined, information-only when that is all you asked for, and your plan's limits.
Why does the probe only show three tools?
That is by design. Assindo exposes exactly what its app does (tasks, results and messages) so every call goes through Assindo's own safety rules, whichever AI app asks.
Where do I see the results?
In the Assindo app, where you also get a notification, and through your agent with the task result tool.
Does it cost extra?
No. Calls and tasks count against your normal Assindo plan.
The server rejected my token. What now?
Run openclaw mcp login assindo again rather than retrying; a fresh sign-in replaces the saved credentials.
Does Assindo work with other AI apps?
Yes. The same server works in Claude and Meta Muse: see Make Phone Calls from Claude with Assindo and How to Connect Meta Muse to Assindo. Assindo is also listed in the official MCP Registry as com.assindo/assindo.
Give your OpenClaw agent a phone. Get Assindo and connect it.
